Yes I am still here……

We have been busy and unwell over the last week or so. Steve is really being hit hard at the moment with a nasty chest infection. He is struggling through but there is quite a bit of uncertainty at his work with regards to redundancies (sp??) so he is trying to have as little time off as possible.

Last weekend Tilly and I headed on a road trip to visit my msn/april 07 baby/scrapbooking buddy Julie and her 3 adorable children (and equally adorable dog).  It was so lovely to catch up in person.  Tilly made some lovely new friends though her and Jorja did clash over a few toys now and then (as 2yo’s do!)

We had such a great time helping Jorja celebrate her birthday :-)   The trip up and back was a dream in my car.  Its the longest trip I have made on my own and I didn’t get lost once, though it was sobering in spots, driving through many areas burnt during Black Saturday.

Some of the sights were truly heart breaking.

I am starting my photography course tomorrow night, which is long overdue.  I was getting in the groove during the week and thought I would get a lovely picture of my 3 in their new winter PJ’s.  Of course it didn’t quite go to plan.  Here is the one and only (and completely boring) shot I got of all 3 actually looking at the camera and standing still.

Declan directed this shot, youngest to oldest.

Here are the photos from the 5 minutes that followed….

a more accurate portrayal of our household LOL!.

I don’t usually dress my boys the same but they each got 2 pairs of PJ’s and with little choice in styles/sizes they did end up with one pair the same. Declan said that they are the type you wear when you have been naughty and go to jail!.

We are getting prepared for Saturday, Matilda’s 2nd birthday. I am not sure if I am quite ready for my baby to turn 2 :-(    She is growing up way too fast .  I have decided not to do birthday parties this year (mean mum!) .  Both boys are getting a DS for their birthdays so that is more than enough cash splashed in my opinion. Just having small family get togethers instead. The break will be nice :-)

Hope you all have a lovely week.

& enjoy life,

Easter = Yum!

I love Easter because I love chocolate. My scales are proof of that!

Easter bunny/Grandparents/Aunties/Uncles were very very giving this year. Our outside fridge is now full of chocolate…..mmmm….chocolate.

The children were so excited when they woke Sunday morning. This is the first year that Matilda has had some idea what was going on.

Riley was too excited to even sit nicely for a photo and that was before he consumed any sugar!

We spent the day at a fantastic park, just behind Stud Park SC. It was amazing.  The kids did not stop running around from the moment we got there. Lots of things for adults to play with too.  Weather was not bad either.

Had a great day eating, playing, eating , eating, playing, eating and playing…oh and eating…mmmmmm…..chocolate.

Sorry for the dodgy photos, going to do a course soon I promise haha

Hope you all had a wonderful Easter and are enjoying the school holidays. We are booked out now until the end of next week.

Speaking of booking, I booked my trip to Hong Kong on Saturday, YAY!.   Mum, Caroline and I are heading away for 4 nights in September (and will be away Fathers Day ooops!).  Really looking forward to it, except the flight there and back but I should be OK, will just keep the sick bag handy LOL.

Have a great day, enjoy life

The tradition continues…..

It was Easter and we painted.  We seem to make a habit of this.  It was time for Declans room to get a makeover.  He has been waiting and waiting for it to happen.  His is the last bedroom in the house to be done.  So after 2.5 days of hard work his room went from this…..

to this…………….

It was his choice of colour and he is so happy with the room now.  I still have a few ideas for pictures on the walls etc but for now this is it.  So happy its done.  Next on my hit list is the lounge room. Would love to get stuck into it today, but just don’t have the time :-(

There you go Julie!.

Will update the rest of Easter and my exciting news soon .

Footy, Music, Food, Weather…

………….all things very close to my heart.

Stuff has been happening, some good, some not so good, but we have been busy.

Mum, Declan, Riley and I introduced my Uncle John to AFL.  I think it was certainly an eye opener for him, going to the MCG with 4 Collingwood supporters.

It also happened to be the day the men in Green (usually white) were not being as “fair” as they should have and the Collingwood Army let them know exactly what they thought!.  Even though the score was not as we had hoped it was still a great day and the only time I have ever been to the footy and not worn 10 layers of clothing to try and stay warm.

Steve and I had 2 nights which could not have been more different if we had tried!. April 1st we headed to the Palace Theatre (formerly the Metro nightclub) to see the Kaiser Chiefs. Anyone who has seen me since then will know that I am now a little obsessed with this band (and their lead singer). They were fantastic and we got to act like teenagers again.

These pics were taken on my phone, hence the poor quality but the colours are nice.  We made sure we were right in the thick of it, it was crazy ( I wont share all the gory details!).  Honestly one of the best gigs I have ever been too.

The following night, just for a change of pace, we headed to Clover Cottage in Berwick for Dinner. This is without a doubt the most elegant restaurant I have been too. We tried to be on our best behaviour as we were celebrating my Mums and my Uncles birthdays. The food was amazing, all 6 courses!.

In between these two events was Declans Easter Bonnet Parade. He helped with his hat which I must say was a poor effort on my part but it was all I could muster at the time. He loved it though which is the main thing.

The Easter Bunny also made a surprise visit, much to the delight of the preps.

Anyone from Melbourne will know that we had a little rain/storm on Friday. Its was one of the most energetic storms I have ever witnessed. We had planned a lovely day up at Duffys Lookout for a picnic that day but before long it looked like this….

dsc_0149

None of us were complaining, the rain was just what we wanted, needless to say, we did not stay very long.

We have a few projects around the home starting soon, lots of painting to be done and a few colour changes. Cant wait to get started and I will post before and afters when its finished.

That’s enough for now, I promise to be back soon.

Take care , Enjoy Life

Been really slack/busy (not sure which?) . It was not a planned blogging break, just kind of  happened.

I promise to update as soon as possible.
