just because.

Here are some recent pictures of Matilda, just because……..

She is as cute as a button

She loves to draw

and because she is not well :-(   I have no idea what is wrong with her but she has just been “off” for a few days.  Crying more than usual, (even over tiny things), not eating much at all, just not feeling happy.  She is getting a 2yo molar which has not been a  problem for her in the past, maybe this one is proving a little more painful than the others.  Here’s hoping she is back to her normal bouncy self soon.

I have not done much at all on the scrapping front. Have been working on my  December Daily Album (yes, still!). Not much getting done. To be honest I am a little over it but am determined to get it finished.

Here is a little look.

The boys are travelling well. Kinder and School are going fine.  They both have such lovely teachers. Declan has his 2nd wobbly tooth and wants it to hurry up and fall out as he wants to save up for a DS!.  Poor Riley is having a hard time with eczema at the moment. We are trialling an egg free diet but so far no change :-( Even the steroid cream is not improving the situation so it looks like a trip to a specialist is in order. Ouch $$$.

Hope you all have a wonderful week, Stay safe.

Is it spring?

May sound like a silly question but honestly this is what I was thinking when I noticed my Manchurian Pear tree in blossom. Jo had mentioned that one of her trees was doing the same thing.

dsc_0004-4

After speaking to my Dad (a very wise man and keen gardener) we decided that it was due to the fact that I was watering this tree on a daily basis, with water collected from our shower, to keep it alive during the recent heat wave. The poor tree must have decided to flower now whilst the going was good in its own attempt at self preservation.

I have lost a few plants in my garden this summer. Most are looking pretty average. As soon as the weather settles down I will be cutting most of it back and taking a “see how we go” approach. Fingers crossed that we will actually get some rain (they say its been 9 weeks now!) and my garden will start to repair itself.

Please take this day to remember all those lost and suffering and still fighting the bushfires.  My heart goes out to you all.

biker chick.

Steve did a very very bad thing last week, he put Matilda on the boys motorbike. She loved it.  He took her for a ride around the garden and since then all she does is talk about the motorbike and play with motorbike toys.  She was meant to be a Scrapping Chick not a Biker Chick!

That cheeky grin never left her face the whole time!. NOOOOOOOOO!.

Afterwards she did reward me with some cute faces for the camera .feb-misc-20092

The middle of our long week was broken up by Isabella’s 4th Birthday.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY BELLA! :-)

We had a yummy Hungry Jacks party (I only ate  9.5 WW points!)

mmmmm what else?, Steve’s car is sick and will (hopefully) be fixed again this week,  Riley starts full time Kinder tomorrow YAY :-) , my garden is looking oh so sick, we need some rain and NOW!.   Have lost a few plants over the last week or so and the water tank is nearly empty :-(

As my camera has been hidden away so much lately here are a few pictures that I took today .

The week that was…..

Its been a tough week. Still in shock about all I see on the news. Watched another amazing piece tonight. The tears rolled down my cheeks again.  We have done our bit for now, donated money, donated blood, shopped at Coles twice on Friday!.  We all need to remember that these communities are going to need our support for months and even years to come.  Together we will all get there in the end.  I am surprised how many people I come across that have been directly affected by all of this. From CFA volunteers out fighting the fires to the lady at swimming who lost her brother, or the other lady whos cousin was still missing, the Weight Watchers leader who almost lost her house, or the friend of a friend who did loose their house at Narre Warren South. Amazing.

Declans school had its own fundraiser this week, with a free dress day. The children were asked to wear Red or Yellow to support the CFA. They managed to raise thousands of dollars, which will be used to help rebuild schools.

The sunrises this week have been a timely reminder of what has happened, the sun is RED and like Jane mentioned, this photo does the actual colour no justice at all.

Just heard on the news tonight that someone lit a fire in Belgrave, its under control but with the wind so strong here tonight that in itself is a miracle.

Thank you again for the wonderful CFA volunteers, thanks for nothing to the mindless twits that start these things.

Will do another post shortly of the more mundane goings on around here.

Stay safe

They have warned us for years that this day would come……. not sure if they, in their wildest dreams, thought it could be this bad.

I am feeling so helpless, I just want to do something to make it better.

Declan told me “today is a very bad day mum”, he knows something really horrible has happened. I cant stop crying, cant stop watching the news either.

Don’t want to go to bed as I don’t want to wake tomorrow to even worse news.

Hope you are all OK.

Day 1

The routines are back in place, Day 1 for Grade 1 and Day 1 for 4yo Kinder.

Getting woken up by the alarm at 6:30 this morning was not pleasant.  Making lunches was as horrible as I remember (don’t know why, but I really hate that job) …….but……

we were ready early for a change.

dsc_0003

Declan joined his new class no problems. His highlight for the day was finding out he could play in the wetlands which were out of bounds for the Preps last year.

Riley had a wonderful first day of Kinder. We got to stay for this short 2 hour session but we did not see much of him as he was off playing with his new classmates.

feb-misc-2009

His Kinder room is brand new and looks stunning. Outside there is a MASSIVE undercover sandpit and HUGE digging patch which I can already see will be Rileys favourite place to hang out.  Matilda had heaps of fun too at Kinder and I know we will have a battle each time we drop Riley off ……I wonder if they would notice an extra person in their class?.

Well that was Day 1, how many sleeps until the holidays start?.

Hope you all had a great day as well.

Take care, Enjoy Life

PS Stay tuned in coming days for an important announcement from Declan  :-)
