Well Christmas has been and gone for another year. The day didn’t start too early… actually we had to wake Declan at 8 because we were all ready to get into the presents. Wont bore you with all the details will just say we had a really lovely day.

The weather was just perfect as well. The children LOVED all of their presents, Santa was very kind this year…….including giving the boys their very own Motorbike! (see below).  Matilda just said WOW everytime she unwrapped something, it was very cute :-)

The quote of the day goes to Declan who after unwrapping all the presents came out with ” Mum, I just love Christmas….how many sleeps until Easter?” HUH?……lots!.

Here are some pictures of the boys and their new toy.

Neither were that sure of the bike at first.  Once Declan got all the gear on he was a little more confident but honestly once he sat on the seat,  he took off and never looked back. He did a fantastic job, Steve says he’s a natural (NNOOOOO!). Riley was a little more unsure and would only ride with Steve hanging onto the back. By the end of his ride Steve was exhausted and Riley was happy he gave it a shot. I am sure it wont be long and he will be zooming around like Declan.

Steve has rigged up a safety kill switch thingy so he still has some control over the speed they travel and can cut the power easily if need be. I am a little calmer now about the bike and am sure the boys will get hours of fun out of it.

I hope you all had a wonderful Christmas Day as well.

The last 2 days we have been in recovery mode, doing not much at all besides playing new PS2 games and watching a bit of cricket.

Ok this post is a bit of a mess but my brain is mush so it’s the best I can do for now!

Till next time

Only 2 more sleeps, I still have lots and lots too do but  am slowly working my way through the list.  We hope you all have a perfect Christmas , spent with families and friends.

Will leave you with a picture of my skinny and a little bit wonky Christmas tree. Notice the slight “S” shape it has taken on?, a perfect “Scott Family” tree wouldn’t you say?.

Its crazy.

I can really understand why its called the silly season. Life gets a little hectic.  Last week went by in a blur. Steve had the week off which meant I had some time (kiddie free) to get some chores done but at the same time seemed to get nothing done!.  The shopping for presents is over. Spent last Wednesday at Southland and battled the crowds.

Last weekend the children and I put the finishing touches on their letters to Santa.

On Sunday we travelled into the city to post them……

ooops sorry no photos of this event as the battery in my camera went flat :-(

I have since purchased a second battery off ebay so this will never happen again sob sob.

I did manage to get a some shots of our adventure. Again the children loved the show put on by Crown Casino and all the colour that is Melbourne at Christmas time.

We were lucky with the weather.  Melbourne has really been turning it on for us over the past week. All the rain we had was so nice.

dsc_0014-5

though the cold weather that came with it was a bit of a shock.  As usual it didnt stay that way for long. Last week I had the heater on and tomorrow it is going to be 34 degrees and no aircon!. Ours has been recalled/whatever they call it and we should wait for a service tech to check it out before using it again. Will see how we go.

Its been an emotional week as well for many reasons .  Some very sad days which included saying goodbye to Declans teacher who is moving to a school closer to home next year. There were lots and lots of tears from both his teacher and all us mums.

I always seem to head into these last few days before the big event feeling exhausted and a little overwhelmed with the task at hand.  I cant wait until Christmas Eve , when it will all be done and I can sit back and enjoy some time with our families.

If I don’t make it back here before Christmas I hope you all have a wonderful time with those close to you. I hope you have all been good boys and girls and that Santa brings you lots and lots of wonderful presents. I hope you don’t eat and drink too much…..oh wait, what the heck, GO CRAZY!.

 Just enjoy!.

As I keep telling myself   “the stress is all worth it in the end”

Take care

Party, Party, Party,

Party, Party…… , Yes x 5, thats how many Christmas/End of Year gatherings we have attended this week.  No wonder the children and hyped on suger and I am exhausted.

Last Monday Riley graduated from Playgroup. Its quite a big deal as he has attended since he was 1 week old :-(   and of course the event was celebrated with party!

Tuesday was recovery/housework day though I did attend an interesting meeting about Declans class next year (all good).

Wednesday I attempted some shopping, but my  youngest 2 had other ideas so we left in disgrace and headed to a thankyou morning tea put on by Declans school for all the parents who had helped out during the year.  Food was delish!.

Thursday Riley graduated from 3yo Kinder. He was not a  willing  participant in the concert but loved the party afterwards, another emotional moment and yes more sugar for the youngest 2.

Friday was Declans classroom party, again more food, more tears (his teacher is moving schools sob, sob) and more fun. This event was closely followed by another christmas “do” at a playcentre. Considering the weather last night the venue could not have been better!.

Phew.

Here are some pictures from the week.

We have also had a bit of rain of late…..

dsc_01881

over 50mm in the last 24 hours and its still raining.   Hopefully the farmers and the water catchments are receiving some of this precious stuff as well.

Steve is at work today then he has the next week off YAY!. It plans to be as busy as last week so I have drawn him up a roster so he knows exactly where he/I/we will be over the next 8 days.

Enjoy the lead up to Christmas, enjoy the rain and try and keep your sanity :-P

Take care

For a limited time only.

Here is my new look, my “Christmas” look. I wish I could do some of the lovely fancy headers you see on other blogs but I can’t so that’s that. I couldn’t even use the picture I really really wanted too as I had no idea  how to rotate the photo in photoshop , seriously that is how bad I am.

To be completely honest the real reason I had to change my look was  just so I could have snow falling on my blog :-) I know it doesn’t (usually) snow in Australia for Christmas but it was just so pretty how could I resist?

***edit, be patient, the snow is coming,  you just need to wait for all the pics to upload/download,  do whatever they do! ***

I know you know,

but I like to state the obvious……

ITS NEARLY CHRISTMAS   :-)

We got into the swing of things a day early with Steve’s work Christmas Party. It was again held at Jells Park, lucky for us the weather was perfect.  The children had so much fun (and so much sugar) with plenty going on to keep them busy all day. They must have been quite good this year as Santa paid them a little visit and got them “just what I wanted, how did Santa know?” wink, wink, clever Santa.

november-2008-misc3

Steve was also lucky as he won a cordless drill in the christmas raffle. It so happens that I was going to buy him a new drill for christmas though this one is 10 times better than anything I would have purchased so he is one very happy camper.  Now I need to think of something else to buy him for christmas, which would not be a problem except it is his birthday tomorrow so he gets overloaded with presents this time of year as it is.

Yesterday, being the 1st of December meant it was time for the chirstmas tree to go up (new family tradition).  I had 3 wonderful “helpers” though I must admit the youngest one was more interested in pulling things off the tree than putting them on.

Slowly getting through the chirstmas shopping, started writing the cards but still so much more to do.

Only 23 sleeps to go,

HO HO HO……MERRY CHRISTMAS……
