The Foo Rocked!!!!!!

Steve and I went to see the Foo Fighters last night. It was another amazing performance.  Dave Grohl is such a showman and full of cheek as well. Its the 4th time we have seen him, the first being when he was the drummer of a little band call Nirvana (the 2nd best band EVER!) and now 3 times with the Foo.  He really interacts with the audience and I must say was very very funny, might have something to do with the beverages consumed whilst performing, not sure?????

We had GA tickets so joined the crush on the floor but it wasnt that bad at all. Overall a great night out, came home ears ringing (still are to be exact!), exhausted but grinning from ear to ear. Poor Steve had to start work at 6am today so bet he is feeling it now!.

They tour so often (3 times in 6 years), I am sure we will be seeing them again soon!.

Back to reality and kids now,

enjoy the rest of your weekend.

xxx Happy Birthday Miss Matilda xxx

Miss Matilda celebrated her first birthday today with a little party at home.

It was a wonderful day.  Thank you to everyone who came to join in the fun.

Thank you for the lovely gifts as well.  She was very spoilt.

She is now tucked up in bed, fast asleep and ONE!!!!!!!

The funny thing today was the party started at 11:30 but everyone arrived around 11:15, the time of day she was born.  I thought that was a lovely sign that we were going to have a great day :-)

Ahhhh….. now 2 weeks to get ready for Declans party.

Almost Ready….

Its been such a crazy week but I think I am ready for Matilda’s party tomorrow. I cant believe my baby is turning 1. Her party dress is out and ready for the morning, the presents are wrapped and the boys have made her some lovely cards. She is going to get so spoilt.  Weather is holding out for us as well, looks like it is going to be a lovely day.  Lets hope I have made enough food. Seems like I have been cooking all week!.

I still feel kind of weird having a party on ANZAC Day (like its disrespectful?) , but it is her birthday and this is what all those brave men and women fought for. They gave us the opportunity to live a wonderful, safe, free, happy life here in Australia and for that we say THANK YOU.

Have a very happy and safe ANZAC Day

Lest we forget

Footy, Freckles and mmmmm……

Another crazy, busy, “where did the time go” kind of week.

Declan had his first real session of Auskick. He just loved it though still learning about all this footy stuff. As we pulled into the oval his first question was “mum, what are those white poles for?”. Mmmm still lots to learn. The session was run really well, very well organised and its just super to  see all the dads getting involved. Might even get Steve to help some weeks and believe me that will be a huge thing because he is not into footy at all, not one little bit, he doesnt even have a team he follows (though I say its Collingwood!).

He was getting tired by the end and also a little hot. Really looking forward to next week. Hope the weather is as nice.

Riley is learning so much with Declan at school. He loves to join in the homework and has now learnt the alphabet and is starting to read a few words.  Still throwing the odd tanty which is frustrating and funny all at the same time.  Hopefully he grows out of that soon.  His freckles have really started to come out after the summer. So cute….

Miss Matilda is full of cheek. She is really adding more words every week with the new ones being eyes, nunun (sleep time),bath , yeah, nah and she is also starting to whistle. After hearing Declan do it all day she is joining in. She manages to get some sound out.

The yeahs and nahs seem to be used at the right time ie “Tilly are you getting out of the bath” “Nah”, “Tilly are you cute” “Yeah”. She also now blows you a kiss if you say “love you”.  Still not interested in walking but why would she when she can crawl so fast!.

Busy running around this week trying to get ready for her little party on Friday. Keep your fingers crossed for me that this lovely weather will stay with us for a few more days.

Will update Kiddies Kreations blog too, so check out the new artwork.

Have a happy and safe week

Nearly One

Just realised that it has been a while since I posted a picture of Matilda so here she is.

She is getting so loud. Trying to be noticed over the boys I think. A few more words have appeared like Riley, woof and the way she says bye is so cute. Her impersonation of Butch our dog is a classic. She has also started pointing when you say “where is Declan” etc, such a clever girl. She is as tough as they come, going to be a real bruiser. Full of a temper though, trying not to let that one get out of hand.

Enjoy

My {other} Boys

I LOVE U2……… guess you knew that already didnt you. Anyway went to see U23D  last night and it was amazing, brilliant, fantastic, wonderful and then some.  The build up was like a real concert, the lights dimmed, I felt the tears start to well with the excitement…………my boys were coming on stage!!!!!. I cant believe I saw them in person only 18 months ago. It seems like yesterday and a lifetime ago all at the same time.  It was so hard to sit still, I wanted to cheer along with the crowd on the screen, I wanted to jump up and down singing at the top of my lungs like I did 18 months ago (sorry TIlly for that bumpy ride!). The 3D shots were so cool, It was like you could reach out and touch them (oh yeah, been there done that!).

I am not some crazy fan who knows every album release date, every song title or even every word but I love them just the same. I dont get hung up on the details, I just love their music.  Ok so maybe I am just a little crazy.

Took some pics of us in those silly 3D glasses but will spare you those ones and share a couple I took at the last concert.

Dont the boys look so much better with their haircut (gee, I sound like an old nanna!).  Sorry the quality is not great but they are scanned pictures as I have lost my copy of the disc they were on!!!!!!!!!!.  Not so stressed now that I have arranged a new copy, but earlier!.

In true Molly style the only thing left to say is “do yourself a favour, go and see it”.

On another note, we have finally all recovered from gastro though Steve still has a sore shoulder.  Yesterday was the first day I felt “well” in a week. Glad that is behind us. Another crazy week ahead.

Take care

That was a long week.

It was a week filled with sick grumpy people. All 5 of us have been unwell over the past week with issues ranging from nausea and vomiting to headaches, teething and generally feeling crap!.  Declan had 3 days off school and still is not right, I still feel “off”, Steve is on the mend though hurt his shoulder at work today :-(   Riley as usual got sick then got over it really quickly though he did have to miss Kinder and poor Matilda is getting 4 molars all at once!  As the weather was so nice yesterday I opened all the doors and windows, changed the beds and sprayed a can of Glen20 around the house. Hopefully the bugs have gone and we can all get on with life.

Today we took Declan down to Berwick to register for Auskick. He is not really a “sporty” kid so thought that a little activity will be great to help him with his co-ordination.  Even though he was not feeling great he enjoyed his time there. It was very casual today, just had to register, collect his goodie bag (which is fantastic!) and then kick a footy around for a bit.

We then had to go out and buy him a pair of sneakers and tracksuit pants (he didnt own either, that is how much he is not into sport ). He is pretty excited about his proper running shoes and thinks they will make him go really fast now.  Just need to find a footy jumper for him. Thats the problem with supporting such a wonderful and popular team, everyone sells out of the black and white ones first (hahaha).

Now on a more serious note, Matilda turns 1 in less than two weeks, OMG. She has been busy learning a few new tricks. Her new words are bye, me, yeah and ta.  She now blows kisses and likes to walk around pushing chairs, toys etc. She is still not standing without holding on, My guess is she will walk around 14 months. She is in the middle of the boys with all her milestones and as Declan was 16 months and Riley 13 months my guess is 14-15 months. Time will tell. Her hair is driving me nuts, it is really starting to grow but not long enough to do anything with so always looks messy. She also has another trick (of the bad variety), she is a shoplifter. Today she swiped a hat from Pumpkin Patch. I didnt realise until we were in Big W that she was holding the $20 hat!. As I am a super honest person (and the hat was not something I would put on her shhhh), I promptly returned the item. Still in shock that it was a $20 hat for a child that would probably stay on for 2 seconds at the most.  Anyway this week was suppose to be when I got ready for her party but now I am really behind so dont expect too much on the 25th!.

Heading off to see U23D tomorrow. Have heard amazing reviews about it and just cant wait. Will probably come home with no voice left but so be it.  Apparently its nearly as good as being at a live concert only cheaper (and without having to camp out all night for tickets). Oh and Jane, only 23 hours to go.

Will leave you with this freaky picture of Declan. The wind blew the curtain as I took the shot and this is the result.

Have a great weekend,  Im looking forward to getting back into the swing of things next week

This house is so funky!

Yes the gastro bug that got Tilly last weekend found me at 1am Tuesday morning, hung around for 24 hours then left, only to race down the hall, find Declan and hit him at 3am Wednesday morning.

This was suppose to be Declans first full week of school for the year but it was not to be. Having a quiet day at home to recover.

Luckily my mum came around in the afternoon to help and do the school run. Poor Steve then had to walk in the door after nearly 12 hours at work and take over. As usual he did a great job cooking, dealing with the kiddies and even cleaning for me!!!

Just for the record………I HATE GASTRO………….!!!!

“F” Words

Words starting with this letter have been used alot around the house this weekend. Here they are

“Fantastic” – Jo and I booked tickets on Friday night to see U23D at Imax next week. Cant wait to see the guys in 3D on a giant screen mmmmmmm. We also managed to squeeze in some scrapping and completed 1 page each. Here is mine.

“Funky” – this describes the smell that greeted me at 6am Saturday morning in Matilda’s bedroom. Yes she had been sick. It was in her hair, in her ears, all over her PJ’s and all over her bed. She was happy enough though, clapping hands and giving me her usual cheeky grin. After a bath and change of bedding, the room smelt a lot better. Lucky for me there has been no encore performance.

“Family Fun”. We had the family (minus a the Baynhams who had a few funky smells of their own to deal with!) around for lunch to celebrate mums birthday. The children love having Grandma, Opa and Pops around, they love all the extra attention.

“Free Fun”.  We were offered a “Jumpalene” from a friend (for free!).  At first I was hesitant as it is Old Skool, with no netting around it to protect the boys from hitting the ground, but then I watched Declan sit on top of the swing set and Riley perched on the fence chatting with the neighbours and I thought “what the hey, they cant fall any further than that”.  The boys are now in love.  They jumped all afternoon.  We have a few rules they need to follow and if they dont, well we will have a to find it a new home.

“Footy”  Seeing as the weather was so nice today, Mum and I decided to take the boys to their first AFL match. Collingwood were playing Richmond at the MCG so we, along with 70,000 others, decided to make the trip in. We drove to Caulfield and then caught a train, sharing the ride with “Party Boy Corey” or “naughty Corey” as the boys call him!.  Declan and Riley were pretty excited to be going to the city and loved the MCG. Even though they got a bit bored towards the end, they behaved beautifully.  It was a pleasure to take them even though I didnt watch much footy because I was keeping a close eye on them.

Here are the boys in action. Surprised how well the pictures came out as we were sitting at the top of the Ponsford stand and for anyone who knows the MCG, that is a long way from the action on the ground.  Oh and for the record, Collingwood gave Richmond what for and won by over 40 points :-)

Well thats the weekend that was. Back to reality tomorrow. Looking forward to getting back into a routine, not looking forward to the hectic mornings again.
