I really love Christmas and yet I hate it all at the same time. This time of year just gets so busy with everything going on and I secretly crave January, when its all over, and we can re-charge and get ready for the New Year.
On Sunday Steve and I took the kiddies to Melbourne for the day. We went by train which the boys thought was fantastic. Our first stop was the Casino to see the Christmas Light Show. It was beautiful and even Tilly seemed to enjoy it, lots of goos and gaas. We then had a lovely “proper” sit down lunch and headed to see the Myer windows. We decided to take a tram, (not so much fun with a pram!), which the boys kept calling a Pram????. Oh boy we got into an interesting conversation about that one. Anyway didnt see alot of the windows as it was very very busy so Steve popped the boys on his shoulders so they could see a little. Did a bit of shopping, saw all the entertainers and Santa trees along the way and a great day was had by all.
What was the highlight for the boys I hear you ask. Well they were quite partial to the groovy writing along the train lines, yes the graffiti!!!! They were also pretty excited about all the Christmas decorations and the train and tram. Declan did ask if we could go on a plane and bus as well that day (typical boys!)
Yesterday was the last day of playgroup and also the Kinder concert and graduation. In the middle of all that we did also manage to get Declan his school uniform (will post pics of that later). I think I managed to sit down at around 9pm last night, whilst I was eating my dinner!.
Declan did really well at the Concert. He actually took part and sang along unlike previous events. He received his graduation certificate and his teachers had put together a couple of folders for each child, one with a collection of their artwork and one with photos from their year at Kinder. They are just lovely and the teachers had put so much work into these.
I am starting to get really emotional about Declan finishing Kinder (he has his last class tomorrow). I am so excited about him starting school and growing up (and I know he will love it), but I just think his Kinder teachers are wonderful and I am very sad about him not spending time with them anymore
. His whole Kinder year has been so much fun and I just hope that his first year at school is just as special. His teachers are being moved (thanks to the local council) to other Kinders as of next year so there is no chance that Riley will be with them in 2 years.
On a brighter note, Riley got accepted to 3YO Kinder for next year and is so excited about starting. Declan has his final school orientation tomorrow, where he gets to meet his teacher and class mates for next year and Tilly is getting tooth #5 ! I have almost finished my Christmas shopping, only a couple of pressies to go (December 19th is my deadline), oh and I got to go out with the girls and scrap on Friday night which was lovely (thanks girls).
