Day 1
Today was Day 1 of school for 2010. Declan started grade 2 and Riley experienced his very first day. The house was crazy with excitement this morning and we were all ready just after 8am. Declan headed off into his classroom without looking back. He loves his new teachers and was so excited to start another year.
Riley got to spend his first day, which was only 1 hour, with Steve, Matilda and I for company. We spent this time sorting out his “tub”, showing him where he will be sitting, where his bag will go, sorting out appointment times for the term and generally getting him use to the classroom setting.
He seemed to enjoy it all, though the real test will come tomorrow when we actually leave him there for 4 hours. He is so ready for school and I am confident that both he and Declan are going to have a wonderful year.

Here are a few photos I took at Jane’s last week. They each capture my children so perfectly.
Little Miss Cheeky

Riley with a look he gives me almost every time my camera comes out.
and Mr Serious ( who along with the “fringe” now wants highlights? )
Got a bit ahead of myself with Project 52 so you will have to wait until next week for some more shots

Australia Day
WOW, what a fantastic day we had yesterday, spent with lots of good food, good company and cheap wine
The weather was perfect for a BBQ and some very Un-Australian Nachos.
Aussie, Aussie, Aussie, Oi, Oi, Oi
Hope you all had a fantastic Australia Day, we certainly did
On another bright note, just want to share with you the lovely roses my boys (the little ones) got for me on the weekend, with some help from Opa. They are just stunning and take pride of place on my table. Matilda tells me many times each day how beautiful they are.
and she is right.

the last day
Today was the last day of relaxing “holidays” for us as a family. After two months, Steve is heading back to work tomorrow. In some ways its been hard, the lack of money, the uncertainty of the injury, would he be able to go back to his job? etc. In other ways though it has been nice, nice to have him around, nice that we could all spend time together, with no rushing around and lots of sleep ins.
Even though the weather was not on our side, we headed out for the afternoon, visiting some parks and Emerald Lake. Puffing Billy arrived just after we did so we took the kids over for a look. I was so excited to see that they still sell the little flags. We must take the kids for a ride one day soon.
My photos were pretty “off” today, was not really in the mood, but still shot on full manual
Found it a bit tricky with the weather changing every 5 minutes!.
It’s currently pouring with rain here (Yay!), filling up my water tanks and giving the garden a lovely drink. Our vegetables were coming along nicely but the hot weather last week literally cooked our tomatoes before we could pick them. Our capsicums are growing well but we are yet to see a strawberry as something keeps eating them before we do!.
The kids have taken a great interest in it and Riley even ate a pasta dish last week with “green bits” because I told him it was the capsicum he helped plant and water
Maybe I should tell him every vegetable comes from our garden? LOL
Enjoy the week coming up
we have lots on. Only 2 weeks until it all starts again.

Week 3 and I am still going strong on my Photo challenge
My beautiful children.
Declan is still growing his fringe until it covers his eyes LOL.

Riley and one of is favourite toys, which he has renamed Butch

Matilda enjoying the fact she can watch TV and have breakfast at the same time. Something that does not happen unless its school holidays or the weekend.
